About
We started our journey by creating Jakarta Ashtanga Yoga Shala in 2010. After 6 years running a traditional yoga school in Jakarta, hosting various events and workshops, we aim to keep growing as a community of seeker. In 2017 we moved the main Shala to Bali, the island of the Gods with the hope to celebrate peace, love, light under Nataraja Bali Yoga Shala.
The name of the Shala is inspired by Nataraja, The dancing form of Shiva. Nataraja beautifully combines Shiva’s three roles as creator, preserver, and destroyer of the universe, with the arch of flames conveying the concept of never ending cycle of time.

Shiva’s dance symbolize the constant motion of the cosmos at the very basic, subatomic level, merging creation & destruction at the very primordial level of all existence and natural phenomena.

Nataraja Bali Yoga Shala is an abode to experience, embrace and celebrate joyful living. We are creating unique community of seekers, who come under our roof to be themselves, valuing our principles - Peace for the mind, Love for the heart and Light for the body to achieve good health. Nataraja’s vision is to bring harmony in physical, mental and emotional levels of our being, through "Simple Living & Higher Thinking", Yoga, Yoga Therapy, and other teachings of healing & well being.

Your health is your wealth. Ashtanga Yoga system is the most complete and methodical, it teaches us step-by-step how to bring harmony to the body, mind and emotion. Our effort is to keep the valuable ancient and tradition alive, as well as to spread the message of yoga in a scientific and systematic manner.
The Ancient sages and Masters developed this integral system of yoga to keep the physical and mental faculties strong. A simple program involving five main principles:

Proper breathing
Proper relaxation
Proper diet
Positive thinking & meditation
The aim of these five main principles is to develop in the aspirants a state of perfect body health, peace of mind & mental stability, perfect intellectual clarity and higher spiritual knowledge. With awareness, a state where one is both useful to himself and to mankind.
